Web connect

We just finished up our first web connect. Getting on the page was easy. Once we were all there, it was difficult to sort it out and organize. We finally settled it things ran smoothly for most of us. It was really nice to put some faces and names together and to share ideas. It's a shame that some people had difficulties and couldn't fully participate. Those of us that did participate had a nice introductory conversation. I'm not very familiar yet with WebQuests so it was good for me to hear what people had to say about them. Also, it was helpful to hear what professional backgrounds people came from. We practiced using proper web chat manners. At times it was easier to type what you wanted to say as opposed to speaking it. You didn't have to wait your turn or worry about forgetting your idea. Overall, I liked this format for communicating.

Greetings Kim!
Thank you again for trying to help me connect with our class. I just located your book marks. My user name is study41 and added you to my network to share book marks on poverty.

I am thinking that our classmates will need to provide their user names with the entire class to effectively share book marks.

I have been reading the different blogs in our class and noticed that people were not sharing comments with each other. I am curious about blogs because my second doctoral dissertation was on interactivity (communication, feedback & participation) in online graduate classes. I speculate that people communicate often in our discussion forum which meets the majority of their needs to relate to others. Also, individuals are busy working on different weekly activities for our class and time constraints keep them from posting blog remarks.

Best wishes,
Brent
